Self-adhesives are one of the biggest banes for collectors. Don't know if we can get Fuelite here in the USA.

Im not into stamps at all but this search came up with this video. I was fascinated. I read the posts about finding Fuelite in the UK and did a search. I know die hard stamp collectors are in the know but I thought I would post the reply off a site I found the answer. I do not take any credit I just copied and pasted the wording below lol

Colemans Fuel. This seems to be the equivalent of Fuellite or Shellite which our antipodean friends have been using successfully. This is a fluid intended for camping lanterns etc and, I am told, the favourite tipple of fire eaters! I bought it from "Go Outdoors" As the name suggests they are a camping/hiking suppliers with 30 outlets in the UK. Tried this out on some NZ self adhesives and it worked a treat. VR

I tried with the Danish equivalent, and it works! I tried with French and US stamps and it worked great. Didn't try with the Danish, as the adhesive used desolves in water. Thanks a lot RolyRJ!

I was wondering if you do this process would it depreciate the value more, if you were looking to sell your stamps later in life.

Found this helpful video listed in the Letters to the Editor of the APS Journal, February 2011. Thank you so much for this "How to" demonstration. Very helpful.

Great video, excellent practical demonstration of how to deal with those pesky self adhesives - only problem we can't get Fuelite in the UK. Do you have an address for the Fuelite company to see if the product can be sent overseas? Many thanks
