In December of 1982, the Dodgers failed to resign Garvey to a new contract. He then signed with the Padres. Here is one of his loyal fans singing the "Garvey Blues"

And also 619upyours, one month later, The Dodgers sent off Ron Cey.

Why do you think the Phillies beat the Dodgers the following year in the NLCS? You think that Greg Brock and Franklin Stubbs were actually going to get over on Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt and Joe Morgan? Had the Dodgers kept their Entire 1981 Core, the Phillies would have experienced 1977, and 1978 all over again! And in 1985, I know that the Dodgers would've beaten St. Louis.
