JJ Feild who plays Heinz is the son of English Sufi mystic Reshad Feild. He was once known as Tim Feild and was in the Springfields. They famously had a hit in the USA- the first British band to do so- about 2 months before Telstar with Silver Threads and Golden Needles. I think Feild had left by then but a small "interweaving" of historic elements there. I can remember the Springfields performing on Crackerjack about that time before Dusty scarpered off for a solo career.
And the great thing about Joe was not his musical skill, so his frustartions regarding playing and singing are vastly over stated here. The songs were almost irrelevant. No. The GREAT thing about Joe was the fact he understood recorded sound like Picasso understood paint.
And Simon Cowell the new Joe Meek???!!! Give me a f*cking break.
I love this movie, but these guys are talking bullsh*t.
Example: Billy Fury manufactured???!!!
Billy Fury self penned his entire first album. The night he knocked on Larry Parnes's / Marty Wilde's dressing room door he was put on stage, singing his own composition.
John Peel didnt even work for the NME or any Music publication At the time of Joe Meek he would have been doing his national Service then after would have been in America. Also at the time of Meek, John Peel was still using his name John Ravenscroft.
