Heres an explanation of a speaker I made out of an old hard disk drive which uses the linear motor of the drive as the voice coil, which vibrates the cone I made out of the soft drink bottle. I spent some time fine tuning this to get some decent sound and this is what I came up with. Its actually very effective, and the poor quality video doesn't do it justice. Oh, and I used a few strands of magnet wire used for an old bell ringing phone to sound the bell to connect the voice coil. That way there is less mass for the speaker to move. I am powering it from two 386 op amps.
