  • It's damn intense as it should be! This is mankind doing exactly what Atoyota said, sticking our head out of the fish bowl.

As the great Stephen Hawking said, "I think we are acting with reckless indifference to our future on planet Earth. At the moment we have no where else to go, but in the long run, humans shouldn't have all its eggs in one basket, or in one planet. I just hope we can avoid dropping the basket until then."

We're eventually going to go further.

  • I understand where you're coming from, but there is experience to be had with this.

It isn't just a politico-marketing event. Things on Hubble had to be replaced, and they're doing it for the last time. A robot doesn't have the dexterity a human does to perform the tasks that need to be done. New tools were developed to help with the process. A lot of advisers at NASA were reluctant to even do it, even with Endeavor on stand-by.

There's things to be learned in both robotics and manned.

  • This should be a autonomous robot task, not risky manned spacewalk turning into politico-marketing event. We have all the knowledge and technology to reduce cost and risk of such type of mission.

  • godspeed

  • It is very interesting !

  • i was just wondering, how and why did you pick the name "atlantis"? there's a deeper meaning in that name, isn't there? *nudge wink*

  • I shall be at this launch. Cannot wait.
