if it weren't for the spaniards, the philippines would have ended up being occupied by china. Maybe then would PI have become more stable and prosperous.

you are absolutely wrong the ayala family owns 60% of the bussiness center in the philippines while the robinson family owns 30% of the bussiness center in the philippines and the remaining 10% is from the other investor like your country and other country too

If...there is a positive in the Philippines not being being prosperous like JAPAN, CHINA, TAIWAN, MALAYSIA, VIETNAM ETC. I can only say is that P.I. are very religious/faithful Christian country who has hope in God. About China...P.I. is so divided with political chaos the past 100 yrs, I was trying to post is that China should take over. So we maybe UNITED. China has already taken over 93% of the business in Manila, while the local filipinos owns sari-sari stores. WOW?

You ignorant pauper! I know the Philippines is an independent country. I was trying to relate is that the P.I. is beyond a 3RD world country. P.I. is in a constant political upheavel. And yet the rich get richer & the poor get poorer. Why is the majority of Asia prosperous yet the P.I. in the past century w/it's help from other countries are still an embarrassment to Asia Countries. What can you say, Go Manny PACQUIAO? Get an education and go 2 S. Arabia? Sad it's own country can't provide jobs.
