I am doing that now too, the egr port in the head was also clogged all of the way.

I dont know why but the three cylinder engine is notorious for burning out one of the exhaust valves causeing the engine to lose compression. Ive had two of them do that to me and then I had another one that never had a single problem with it

IF that is the three cylinder you might have low compression

you are correct, 30 psi on cylinder 1 and 85 on both 2 and 3
