I hope that Allied is not affiliated with this video . Our guys would have been fired for that .

@roofrepairspecial i woudlnt trust that bracket at all 4 nails aint much and im suprised you couldnt get sued, i can see it a now a stupid home owner trying to use the bracket, maybe catching the edge of the truss and falling to a bad injury...and nice throwing the nails in the home owners attic why not just throw the 4 nails in your pocket? lazy? and i honestley wouldnt recommend nailing through the shingles at all your just asking for leaks...i would never sub any work to you as a contractor

no way is 4 nails going to hold a 105kg man falling from a roof!
-
OMG four nails for the anchor??? THAT IS NOT TO SPEC..... How many holes are in your anchor?
4 nails will never pass FED-OSHA

BRACKET OR TYING OFF IS LESS THAN HALF THE REQUIREMENT TO BE SAFE... USE OF A PROPERLY FITTING HARNESS AND A ROPE GRAB IS BETTER BUT DO NOT FORGET ABOUT SWING FALL POTENTIAL...THEREFORE BRACKET/TIE OFF POSITION IS CRITICAL SO AS NOT TO CREATE A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY. I HAVE SEEN ROOFERS WITH ENOUGH SLACK IN THE ROPE TO BOUNCE TWICE BEFORE THE SLACK IS TAKEN UP... I WOULD GIVE YOU A 'D' FOR THIS AS WHILE IT IS BETTER THAN NOTHING IT STILL LEAVES PLENTY OF ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT...

I did find them at Akland Granger safety but could I ask you about how many nails you should use? I'm not sure if you were going quick for the making of the video or if you really need a couple nails on each side? I'm familiar with lanyards and safety lines, cleaned windows for 25 years so as far as a harness is concerned do you need to use a full parachute harness? or just a hip harness? (If they even still make them) Great Video btw.

Are you sure you can buy those roof top anchors at home depot? I can't even find them on the internet and I would love to buy one.

Can you leave that device attached to your roof? Looking for an easier way to clean gutters. Would need to get on the roof twice a year to tie off an walk down the edge of roof with a blower.

your palm is not a mallet. arthritis is in your future.
if its in the middle of the roof,or just nail your bracket to the top of the hip just like I have in the video and just leave it there, just caulk your holes and leave it there that way you can do your eavestrough cleaning every year just by hooking your rope up. And its nice to see you are being safe. Good luck take care -Elvis

you are a funny canadian> good tutorial, i learnt a few things> why no harness? and the "studs "are rafters. that is the top "chord" you nailed into. if you are communicating, best to use the proper terminology. i am glad to see you doing a complete job, gutters and all.

Thanks for the instruction. Are roofers usually under a certain weight? Would a big person damage the roof or the shingles? I'm 235 lbs, I always wondered about that.
Are you using sunblock?

@IamUncledeuce im about 215 and when i walk with a bundle on my shoulder im 300 lbs so i would not worry but i do try to walk on the studs you never know, and yes i uses sunblock lol i burn like crazy
