I'd just like to make sure people know, this song was written by Rich Mullins, not Rick Elias. Rick died before it was recorded, and so the Ragamuffin Band and others created the album, called "The Jesus Record". If you look up the album on wikipedia you can see.

I'm sorry, I didn't know. I actually didn't hear it from wikipedia, I heard it years ago when my mom first bought The Jesus Record on cassette. It had been my understanding that the songs on the tape were written by Rich Mullins before his death. My only thought was to give credit to someone I thought was the original artist. Apologies.

A song about the Jesus of scripture. Ricks new project is coming up, so check out his face book page to find out about it. I'm excited about the prospects of the church as a whole hearing from the "Ragamuffins" again.

I love this song, this Jesus, and the way you sing His song, Rick. Thanks for posting it, relias9707 ! The fact that our Messiah-example made himself of no reputation is enough to help us understand that we ought to do the same. There is no church, no religious leader that should take His place as our example to pattern our lives after. I just love Him. What an awesome, amazing, love-filled, practical Savior He is!

I know what you mean by some songs falling from the sky. Sometimes words come through days of effort and still they seem to pout and flex muscles of resistance, Others are a gift given from above... thank you for sharing this gift.
