@MiaB93 You posted this a year ago, but just incase you're still confused- first, you have to search for 'musical notation' in the library catalog. It'll say that the book is checked out to Mel Corballis. Ask Mel if you can borrow the book. She'll want you to make a snack for her first. After you make the snack, return to Mel and she'll give you the book. Before you look through the book, look at the two lamps in the entrance that look like pianos. Then everything should make sense.

how do you sovle the puzzle with the piano? Calling Ned for Hints are NOT helping :(

You find out later in the game that Mel (goth) great grandma was Elinor Pennvelyn. But there is no real relation through out the game, just hints.
