Todays the wedding. Believe it or not but Maggie and Kevin have learned to keep their mouths shut and their eyes on their toes, avoiding each other. Cold feet? Or cold heart?
But today Maggie is nervous, Kevin is preparing his speech, Nick is caressing Cassidy, and Joe is getting drunk. Today is Maggie and Kevins wedding. Believe it.
The room where Kevin and Maggie would pronounce their love was decorated fine colours of blue. Family members loaded the room, awaiting this day and hour. Kevin walks slowly up to the front of the chapel, his heart beating, his hands shaking with his rosary in hand, his knuckles turning white with how tight hes holding onto it. Nick and Cassidy walk hand in hand, Nick flashing a sober smile to Kevin, who has nothing to show in return. A drunken Joe Stammers in grabbing gasps and attention from family he has yet to meet. He stands beside Nick and Kevin, reeking of whiskey. But Kevin just shakes his head, because he could care less.
Maggie throws up once again before fixing herself up, grabbing her flowers and heading for the alter. But as she walks out of her dressing room, one more late comer walks through the door first, her hair messy and her dress wrinkled. Her eyes are glazed over with tears, but thats a given when your living a life like Melrose. She walks through the doors while people sigh hoping it would be the bride to be. She looks up and sees Joe, drunk and angry. Shivers run up her spine at his glare. Melrose takes a seat up front, her eyes never leaving Joes. They didnt even look away from each other for one second while Maggie walked down the aisle. In fact, Melrose I guess, planned on stealing the show when she mouthed 'I Love You' to Joe, whos ears released steam.
"YOU LOVE ME!" He screamed, Maggie halted as tears flowed down her cheeks, for they could no longer be held back. Kevin and Nicks jaws dropped. Everyones attention no longer on the bride. "HOW COULD YOU LOVE ME? YOU LEFT ME YOU STUPID BITCH!" His voice raised high as he stumbled down toward Maggie. He held a hand to her tearful face and wiped away a tear. Maggie looked at Joe with sorrow in her eyes.
"Please dont do this Joe. Please dont tell, please dont tell." She whispered, pleadingly. But Joe just shook his head.
"You know Kevin, Maggie isnt as pure as you think she is, in fact for a virgin she sure knew what she was doing when I screwed her!" Joe said wondering up toward Kevin. Kevins eyes blazed with tears, his heart sank and shattered. But he didnt really care, he felt more embarrassed then anything. His cheeks flushed to prove it.
"Like all virgins" Joe started as he turned to Melrose. He looked into her eyes that were also tear filled, her cheeks also red. He grabbed her hand and lifted her up, grabbing her by the waist and holding her tightly. He was so close, Melrose could smell the whiskey. But she didnt care at all, she just wanted to kiss him. "Theyre only good and pure until they lose it. And then they turn into fuck-ups like me. And do awful things to ones they lost it to, even though they were supposed to be in love." He said just loud enough for the silent room to hear, but quiet enough to send shivers down Melroses exposed arms and legs. She gulped, Joes eyes still on hers. "But everyone makes mistakes" He said letting go of Melrose against her wishes and turning to Kevin. He walked up to his brother and put a hand on his shoulder. "and it takes a real man, or woman to admit them."
"IM SORRY!!!" A voice came from the aisle, to the left of the chapel and tow voices tot eh front of the chapel. Maggie, Melrose, Joe and Kevin said all at the same time. Because they were all guilty and all messed up and all made mistakes. But everyone looked at Kevin confused.
What did he do?
