Differences between male and female pillbugs (aka rolly-polly; Armadillidium vulgare, family Armadillidiidae) . Late-April 2009 in Japan.

今まで♀だけでしたが、最近ようやく♂を一匹見つけたので飼育容器に追加しました。オカダンゴムシは背側の模様の有無および腹側後部中央の突起の有無によって雌雄を見分け
餌は落ち葉と野菜屑がメイン。共食いを避けるために煮干も入れてやる。霧吹きして水気を与える。ワラジムシも一緒に入れています。

Thankyou!!!!!!!!!!!! All i need to know is how they mate cause my pills seem to be making some sorts of strange moves which each other but i want to know if it is they are mating or not because my aquarium is not big enough to keep all the babies, i might have to sperate som male and female.

well, i didn't conclude similarity of our fauna just basing on this vid, i said it based on wantching others vids to.
yet perhaps insects widened their natural habitat area due to humans so it shouldn't be that surprising

this species (Armadillidium vulgare) is not a japanese native species but an invasive (naturalized) species.
they r european origin and r now distributed all over the world.

じつはうちダンゴムシのオスメスの見分け方とか種類とか全然分からないんです
もしこれと同じ動画をとろうとしたらうちじゃあ

私も少し調べただけなのですけど、オカダンゴムシは外来種で身近に見かけるのは多分ほとんど本種なのだそうです。

虫を撮るときはカメラをマクロモードにして、それでもピントが合わないときはレンズの前に虫眼鏡を差し出してみるといいですよ。工夫してみて下さい。
