This song came out when I was 17 years old. To this day I still love it! Some of the absolute best guitar playing ever from Felder and Walsh. And I have heard for years about this meaning and that meaning. Personally, I couldnt care less. I know what it means to me...a lot of great memories! No cults, no demonic suggestions. Just pure ole good memories of teenage years. One of the best, if not THE BEST song ever in rock and roll. Thanks for the facts on it. Very interesting.

My Dad raised me on older music like this. After knowing songs like this all my life the new stuff just does not reach my standards. The "popular" music is just not as well done it seams. It sounds like people are stringing together sounds into a song instead of crafting a work of art.

Don Felder is coming to Notre Dame du Nord in a few weeks and I've got backstage passes. It includes a one hour dinner and drinks with him, seats on the stage to the left of him, about 30 feet away, pre-concert and post-concert blab sessions, and $200 worth of personally autographed souvenirs as well as a photo shoot. Worth every cent of the $3000 I paid for the pair. I'm almost pissing myself thinking about it and my son is going with me. But he doesn't know it yet. :)
