(UW PRESS RELEASE)
The University of Wyoming/Casper College (UW/CC) Center's commencement ceremony honored 114 graduates Thursday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Casper Events Center.

Rose Crossen, assistant lecturer of educational studies at the UW/CC Center, offered the faculty reflections, followed by the student speaker Liz Fauber, candidate for a bachelor's degree in elementary education.

Walter Nolte, president of Casper College since 2004, offered the commencement address. Under his leadership, Casper College has added several new degrees and certificates and an honors program and enrollment has reached record levels. He has also worked as an excellent partner with the University of Wyoming.

Nolte's leadership roles extend well beyond Casper: He has been a member of the Wyoming Community College President's Council and the American Association of Community Colleges Board of Directors, and currently serves on the Executive Council of the Wyoming Community College Commission.

Forty graduates received their bachelor's degrees in elementary, secondary science, and secondary social studies education through the UW/CC Center. Degreesin communication, criminal justice, English, humanities and fine arts, psychology, social science, Spanish, biology, business administration, political science, wildlife and fisheries biology and management, and social work. Master's degrees will be awarded in education, counseling, and zoology.

"The UW/CC Center ceremony is truly special," said Brent Pickett, associate dean and director of the UW/CC Center. "A lot of faculty, administrators and staff travel from Laramie to see and help confer degrees upon UW/CC students. It is small enough so that we can have every graduate walk across the stage and shake President Tom Buchanan's hand, but large enough to make it a great community celebration."
