It can be overwhelming to make the choice to change. To be positive or negative, right or wrong, high or low. These feelings can leave many paralyzed to do nothing as well as allow emotions of depression to take over. The best way to deal is by making one choice at a time.

How to make a choice
1. Write down your choices.
2. Now see yourself in your mind doing the choice that you have decided to make. See yourself actually doing all the things required to doing that choice. How does it feel to do or have done that choice?
3. Close your eyes and really feel like you've made that choice.
4. Write down a number, on the scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best that represents how that choice makes you feel.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 with each of your choices.
This process will allow for you to systematically make decisions in your life without becoming overwhelmed or experiencing the paralysis of making no decisions at all. The better you feel the better the choice. Understanding "feelings" and emotional connection can be relative. Sometimes, nothing feels good. In this case, you have to pick the choice that only feels better than the other. Keep in mind this process will take some time to master. Throughout our lives we have been programmed into the assumption that a decision has to actually feel good in order for it to be the right one. It doesn't. It just has to feel a little better than the other, knowing that even one that feels horrible will work out perfectly.
