Arriving at his first EU summit as President of the European Parliament on Monday, Martin Schulz told journalists that he supports plans for more stringent European supervision of Greek government funding, but indicated he is not completely comfortable with the semantics in this discussion. Media reports have suggested Germany will propose plans to appoint a specific EU budget commissioner whose task it will be to supervise Greek government spending.
