@Crisis7 The protest and subscription loss campaign was a success, The amount of subscription loss and bad press hit CCP hard enough that they had to cancel one of their game projects and layoff several employees. CCP has finally listened to the players and are returning to the original way of EVE.

@Crisis7 The newsletter and the leaked email showed the players that CCP had no intention of honoring their 18 month promise. They will continue to ignore the problems with the game and venture toward money grubbing ventures. The dam that held up the unhappiness and frustration of players broke. We tried talking with CCP several times, over and over. They never listened to us. With talk and diplomacy no longer viable, protest and subscription canceling was now the only way.

I will clarify the real cause of the riots. I will say that Microtransactions, the CEO's email, and the Greed is Good Newsletter are the straws that broke the camel's back. For the past few years, CCP has gotten lazier and lazier, adding less and less content and ignoring gameplay balance issues and bugs. They spent a lot of time on Incarna and it was a real piece of shit. They promised to fix and improve the game in 18 months. We gave them 18 months, and we got the shit called Incarna.
