It's hard when you follow a band for DECADES and you know that their recent stuff is really good, but every other idiot just wants to hear the old stuff and aaaaargh. I am a half man half biscuit fan btw..

@blumphy - I suppose this ealy stuff has a kind of jangly, slightly shambolic indie-pop charm but not quite my bag, I'm more of an an epic, widescreen, rock fan, so I guess that's why I like their latter stuff more.

Nothing to do with becoming popular, well, not for me at least. More to do with the fact they became a completely different band after Gavan's departure and the re mastered, re release of Sit Down.
