so, if i were to program a minitor to my local dept, could it be used as a scanner? also, can you have more than one dept programmed?

@occdude2011 yes It can for two channels and yes, you can 2 dept in the pager..

i have a question, do you have to have your fire department program it? and also im thinking of buying a minitor or apollo but i need one to channel my local fire department cause the switched to 800mhz and my scanner does not pick up there station accept for the ones out of town but the station got dispatch ( Empty Station ) And i did not now what happened cause my scanner wont turn on no more.

@VFFJunior No your dept does not have to program it they will however have your freqs and desired tones I could program a Minitor not an Aplocio

the tones are set by your Dept if you are talking the 8 selectable music tones you can put different alerts for each tone
