Concerto for harp and orchestra in E flat major, Op. 74 (1938)
I. Allegro moderato
A work for solo harp and orchestra by Soviet composer Reinhold Glière (1875-1956), who studied with Sergei Taneyev, Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov and Anton Arensky. Glière composed this concerto in 1938, the same year that he was appointed "Artist of the People" and became the Chairman of the Organization Committee of the Soviet Composers Association.

Yes! Yes! We have been starved of this wonderful music. I have adored Gliere for years and when I first heard his Harp concerto, I wept - and still do. So many consumers (of anything but especially music) just take whatever the commercial bully boys throw at them. That's why people listen to rubbish and grow to like rubbish. Explore, explore, search, search and use your brains. The world is overflowing with wonders of all kinds. All you have to do is explore. Do a search on KANTELE for a start!
