government determines from the people's diverse points of view where and what roads need to be built. It may be convenient for me to get to work faster by having a road go through your kitchen. You may disagree and want input. Next someone needs to specify and bid the road so that people get what they paid for. Government will provide a ton of safety while the road is being built in regulation of traffic. Do we decide in a libertarian context whether lane closures need to be be done?

Just because the government is bad at something, or even everything, that doesn't mean that having private companies fund everything is going to be any better. Or even that it wouldn't be worse.

You have to make the case for why your way is better. Companies screw people over all of the time. How is that any different?
