November 20, 1955 Donald Willing performed on the Holy Cross Rieger. The Organ was ogiinally purchased by the Dean of Music at Mary Hardin Baylor College. When he left for another position, the college did not wish to keep the instrument and put it on the market. Otto Hoffman, an influential organ builder in Austin, notified Fr. Conly that it was available. The church purchased the organ for $6,000, though the original cost had been $7,200. The Holy Cross Rieger has 12 stops, 15 ranks and 700 pipes.

  • I'll see if I can get Graham to give me the stops he chose for this piece. I haven't been to that church in some time, so I don't know when I'll be there to see him and ask.

  • There is one IDENTICAL in Denton TX @ St. Barnabas Episcopal

  • This is a two manual and pedal choir-organ; similar instruments were common in smaller church-houses throughout Europe.
