He just locked up the front wheels. Nothing more. You can see it in the last shot. When you've locked up your front wheels, you cannot turn the car.

you guys are dumb, as much as i think he is old, and the pavement was wet, you cannot brake when a car is sliding because it has no grip and will keep on sliding, and when it is sliding the car will not respond like what happened, he kept on turning but it didn't turn
