The Civil War in Bosnia (Facts & Chronology) [2]

This is what led to the Bosnian civil war.
No, there was no "Aggression", it was a civil war, as explained in the video. And in civil wars the civil society and the chains of command collapse. Any idiot with a weapon does what he feels for. These are notorious facts. It is predictable.

Stop confusing and manipulating dates and thus the significance of events for the context. Although I´m under the impression that some of you actually are so confused that you cannot keep track of things.

Stop acting victims. And stop expecting the world to succumb to any kind of nonsense, because you are victims.

Yes, you are victims, as well as many others. But the others are moving on. While you´re still repeating Alija Izetbegovićs propaganda as if was 1993.

The civil war started because of Alija Izetbegović stupidity and you became victims because Alija Izetbegovic literally pushed you into a civil war that you had no chance to win.
He sacrificed you in the fanatical belief that "someone" would come and win the war for him.

And you´re defending him. Unbelievable.

There is an epilogue. Eventually, the Yanks intervened. But the Dayton Agreement is essentially the same deal as Carrington offered before the beginning of the war.

In summary:
1. I don´t understand why Bosnia had to secede. And spare me the usual crap that you had no choice, since you were attacked. The video shows that that´s a lie.
1 a) What was won by it?
1 b) How was it intended to be implemented?

2. Even if you should still consider that you had no choice, if Izetbegovic would have accepted Carringtons plan, there would have been no bloodshed at all. After three years of random killings, you ended up with a solution that was offered before the war.
2 b) Was it worth it?

3.How long do you intend to remain stubborn and defend the idiot that has pushed you into that massacre?

...which has also won foreign profiteers many opportunities. But I suppose if nationalism is still rampant throughout the region and you are a Bosniak and eventually ended up on the "winning" side, there's no real reason to dislike Izetbegovic unless you're particularly intelligent.

I'm an American born in the '80s, though. Honestly, I don't know what alternative there was for Bosniaks other than Abdic, because I wasn't there to know what people were thinking.

@herrgolf Once again, a correct analysis.

It´s hard to know what the bosniaks were thinking. First they voted for independence by 99 %, and then they protested in Sarajevo for Yugoslavia… then they went to war without weapons… They simply couldn´t win. They shouldn´t have gone to war at all. The outcome was highly predictable.

Seems that they weren´t thinking at all… The madness of nationalism.

@MarshalRedDog Alija´s plan seems to have been that if he helped Tudjman, Tudjman would help him back. While no one screwed him as Tudjman did. From 1993 it was Croatia that supplied the Bosnian serbs.

At a point, Milosevic offered Izetbegovic to become the president of Yugoslavia. But he refused…

You´re right, Abdic was the only alternative for the bosniaks.

But many bosniaks are still sticking to the war propaganda “for the heck of it”.

@MarshalRedDog Serbia is ruled by Milosevic’s opponents. They have every reason to demonize him and his propaganda. Croatia is under pressure from EU to calm down the nationalist propaganda…

But Bosnia is a non-functioning state. The nationalists in Sarajevo don´t give a damn and are still propagating as back in 1992. The view of the population reflects the propaganda. Thus, many bosniaks are still mentally stuck in 1992.

I can´t explain their behavior otherwise.

Alija Izetbegovic said "Had i known we were going to lose this many lives i would never have declared independence for the PEOPLE. so while you blame him he actually sought a peaceful way out but the SERBIANs had to say no to it ignored all diplomatic options and negotiating and instead just shot missles at Bosnia. EVER hear of the SREBRENCA MASSACRE where over 11000 men from the ages of 10-65 died because of the serbs, who did it the SERBIANS, who messed up in this THE UNITED NATIONS so give me and everybody else a break as YOU are not an expert on this topic nor have any real research on this.
