Beards. Flannel. Crazy-hair. Beer. Dewey Decimal and the System sounds as crazy as they look. Out of Jefferson, New Jersey, Dewey hits like a punch to the throat with their goofy, jovial personalities and their brand of rockabilly featuring tinges of country, folk, blues, swing and metal.

As lead singer Ted Sadiwnyks vocals grates with a raw, rough resilience, hes backed by the unadulterated, pulsing drumming of Caleb Estey, whose metal roots give the band a solid, piercing rock feel. Mike Taddeo, guitarist, shreds with a conviction that would make anyone believe that Jesus can in fact kick ass. And take names. His brother, bassist Brian, and Eric Hantson on the keys round out the sound, and on tracks like Alphabasaurus add a rag-time/swing element.

Theyve got songs about whiskey, horses, whores, druggin, guns and more whores, that would make you wanna dance even if you werent into one or more of that list. A Dewey set featuring tunes like Romeo Station Wagon and Puppy Ear Wallet will undoubtedly get you on your feet as they did to audiences at Lovefest 09, on a frigid Valentines night and later at the Gristmill Cafe on the 28th of February, passing a flask through the excited, enthused local crowd.
