@missanna208802 i ve tried making jewelry few times and i noticed that the wire cracks but this happens because of bending the wire several times in different directions (just to get the shape i want)..never heard that working with wire makes it harder
-
i didnt get the part where u add the jump chain and start all over again. u re wrapping the wire, then u cut it, but u continue working with same wire?! how do u do it? and did i hear it right, jump chain?

I am such a slow learner. Watched this video like 20x and still haven't attempted to make the wire wrap bracelet. LOL. OK, I'm gonna seriously try this tomorrow....just need to watch one more time.............

@missanna208802 She doesn't mean that it actually softens the wire, if you use artistic wire for jewelry making running it through your fingers warms it up and it makes it easier to work with, I've been making jewelry for a long time and that's what she means by that statement. I don't know if you make jewelry or not, but you obviously don't understand what she's talking about, don't be so rude

I find that running the wire through my fingers doesn't soften it, but it sure doesn't harden it either. Running it through my nylon pliers hardens it.

A perfect example of this is to bend a paper clip over and over in the same spot. It will get harder to bend then it will bend easily right before it breaks. My experience, education in metal, and knowledge from books all supports my previously stated comment. This may not be true for EVERY metal, but as far as jewelry metals are concerned, working the metal hardens it. If one wanted to soften it again, one would need to anneal it with something like a torch or kiln.

Please do explain this to me. If you know something I don't know, I woud love to know. I always want to learn new things, and if I am wrong about something, I would really like to be corrected. However, I have learned in my jewelry/ metals class and in every metalworking book that any time metal is worked (bent, filed, hammered, drawn, etc.) the crystalline structure of the metal changes and it becomes harder. If worked too much, it will eventually crack or break.
HI KARLA can ypu please tell me where to buy the wire?? thanks
