Microsoft Connected Health Conference 2011 - More Like Us: Computing Transformed
We are experiencing a transformation of how we use computers, what they can do for us, and who can use them. Powerful computers in many forms will work seamlessly with cloud services to enable more natural ways to interact with technology. As computers become more like us, we'll see a dramatic shift in how we work, collaborate, make decisions, and stay healthy. And increasingly, systems will work on our behalf, rather than at our command. Craig Mundie will discuss how the information technology ecosystem is evolving to make this possible, and will map out a technology vision for how healthcare can benefit from these technology advancements in the next five to ten years.
SPEAKER:
Craig Mundie, Chief Research & Strategy Officer, Microsoft
I think though the issue of IP addresses needs to be fully investigated as we all know the current 32bit system is quickly running out! I mean are IT companies working to resolve this IP problem or is it not really getting the due air time and credit that it deserves?

For example if they fell in a bathroom - there could be some kind of emergency alert connected to the door and if there is somekind of distress the door could be kicked or pushed (even when it is closed already) and this sends some kind of signalling to an IP addressing system......

I don't know if what I am going to say here comes under the banner of health, but I'll try and relate it.........Does Microsoft believe that a day will come when IP addresses will be used in systems for example which could be connected to doors in safe accomodation - by this I mean that old people sometimes live in what is sometimes called safe accomodation and systems within that apartment can be hooked up electronically to some kind of help.
