  • Thank you Sir. Now can someone tell me how to safely cut that thick coating of wax off the turnip without taking a finger or two with it? There's no way a peeler's going to do the job. The past two years I've had to use frozen turnips due to the fact that I don't have a chain saw. Any suggestions? Thanks Much.

  • Made this and it's great! Turnips taste like a combination of radishes and beets in my opinion. So the sugar does help.

  • good instruction brother! thank you!

  • So much butter that looks so unhealthy!

  • I have never had a turnip, can anyone tell me what they taste like?

  • Fantastic recipe! I made this tonight and we loved this dish with our roated chicken. Next time I'm going to add some heavy cream as well. Instead of regular white sugar, I used brown sugar and the dish was heavenly. A great way to use a vegetable that is truly affordable during the winter and easy to grow.

  • what a hack

  • This in a way confermes what I have felt for a long time. I have never liked turnups.

But I wanted to because I love so many other vegies. Seems that if you take anything and cover it with tons of butter cherries, sugar, parsley, it would taste good. What is it about turnips that so many people don't like? Because there bitter? I just don't know

but I appreciate this vid Sir. Could have shortened it by not cutting ALL the turnip on tape. Though thanks for sharing.

  • Great video. Appreciate it. I won't be able to cut it as good as you, but I will give it a go.

  • I've never tried to add sugar to my turnips.

    I may try it sometime.

    Thanks for sharing.
