American Petroleum Institute gets Huntingdon Life Sciences during Occupy DC

On the 7th of October, animal rights activists recruited a crew from McPherson Square and deployed to the nearby offices of the American Petroleum Institute to protest the animal "testing" they fund at Huntingdon Life Sciences.

Huntingdon Life Sciences or HLS is a contract animal testing lab that kills 500 animals a day testing bleach, Splenda, and anything else their clients want to test.

In the case of the American Petroleum Institute, these experiments include testing unleaded gasoline on pregnant rats and even tests involving paraffin wax for unknown reasons.

Beyond animal testing, the DC lobbying offices of the American Petroleum Institute or API are exactly the sort of corporate lobbyists and corruptors of government that have infuriated the public and caused occupations of public space in most major cities across the US.
