  • Glad you dig it. Maybe I'll post some more from that workshop one of theses days. It was recorded on a plain ol' Sony Handycam.

  • Great example of how well the banjo and mandolin can sound together.

Though they are not playing slow, I don't really think they are playing that fast....definitely not enough to not recognize a tune. As far as the banjo goes, I doubt this recording represents truly the sound being heard. Plus the banjo isn't really known to be that dynamic. Most banjo players will back away from the mic when they want to be less heard, can't really do that all to well when sitting in a chair.

  • totally unbridled genius!

  • Is it just me or is this what Heaven sounds like

  • Tremendous - two incredible players. Amazing improvisation.

  • a smothering bucket of notes. Talented chaps though...

  • I would of killed somebody to of got to see this live. Chris and Noam are my two favorite musicians.

  • SIIICK!!!!

  • Too fast.

  • To much banjo....

  • @lgjones88 , I've been playing and "listening" to bluegrass for nearly 40 years, theirs no question that these guys are excellent musicians and Big Sciota is meant to be played on the fast side, but if you think that this is a good recording of it I'd say that it's you that needs your ears checked.....perhaps the secret is to stick your tongue out whilst playing it.

  • @PadsterDood you obviously don't listen to bluegrass to much...i agree that speed isn't everything but this is the speed the song was intended to be played at and could actually be played faster, its a fiddle tune not a waltz...if you can't recognize the tune you should probably get your ears checked

  • awesome.. :) The mic's and the home video recording don't do the mix volume wise justice.. I'm sure Naom is in line, what the camera pics up isn't in his control. As usual the haters are gonna be negative over what they aspire to but will never be :) losers ...
