LAPD officers beat man after pepper sraying him in Hollywood

Officer Alexander Schlegel and Officer Patrick Farrell punches William Cardenas on August 11, 2006. Video shows Farrell striking him at least six times in the face which contradicts the LAPD report that they filed.

According to the arrest report, Schlegel said Farrell struck Cardenas after "the suspect continued to grab at my [Schlegel's] belt and waist." But the video shows that Cardenas' hands are not near Schlegel's waist or belt either before or after Farrell strikes him.

Both officers are on top of Cardenas, with Farrell's knee pressed hard against his neck and Schlegel sitting astride his midsection. The suspect is heard yelling "I can't breathe" as his arms squirm.

This motherfucker got what he deserved. It seems ugly, but cop work is ugly. It is hard to handcuff someone resisting. It's easy to criticize when your a watching this at your home, not doing it by yourself, living the heat of moment.

If you think handcuffing is easy, then try handcuffing a resiting friend just to try. And I'm about to get a bjj black belt...

I'm a italian policeman, I hate that behavior at all and I can't believe what i saw, we have to serve the people and be friendly with them (even if they are wrong), that man can be my brother/sister/friend .... I can't believe (it's easy be strong in that way) , we (policemen) must be strong with our mind not with our hands or weapons.
