It is very hot where I live. So, doing anything you can to save money on air conditioning is a requirement.

Good work !

Keeping this thing clean has lowered our electric bill by about 30 bucks a month. I compared the figures this year to last year, even with higher utility costs.

I would like to do this to my motor. It would be interesting to take amp readings of the motor before and after. If I do it ill let you know what I find. How was your airflow after that? I bet it increased.

@tkarmakid Please do. Even though technically speaking added paint adds weight, the smooth surface far surpasses it's effects. It is like the difference between a dull blade and a sharp one. It doesn't matter how heavy it is. It still cuts better. Let me know. Would be interested since you have the equipment to test it. The air flow was amazing. It blew out the air ducts clean. I had black stuff come out all over the place after tweaking the blade.

good vid. one thing people may want to know, is that yellow cap on the side of the motor is where you put the oil (not motor oil, we use turbine oil, you should be able to get it at walmart) while you have it out, take that plug out, find what looks like a small sponge next to the shaft inside that hole, and put a few drops of turbine oil there. btw, don't expect your motor to come off easy, more often than not, i have to get my puller to get them off.

@VonDuross Great advice. Although I'd recommend purchasing the oil someplace else. I do not endorse Walmart and have removed them from any advertising on this channel. Walmart does not deserve your business. Trust me on this.
The oil can be purchased at Home Depot, Lowes, even OReilly's Auto Parts. Make sure you don't break off the yellow piece as well. They become brittle over time and can break off into the oil hole. :) Thanks again for your tip!

Did u use a wet toothbrush to clean the motor housing? No no no... keep your motor away from moisture. Its windings will thank you. I know yours works still but why take the chance? It doesn't need to be that shiny lol

@bkcharter I did not use anything wet around the motor housing except a dust cloth and compressed air. So right about the moisture. Don't want that thing to get wet.
