Opening track from The Trinity Session CD, illustrated with vintage 1930's archival footage of the co-operative coal mine in St. Charles, Michigan. The clips were transferred from original 16mm film by me nearly 20 years ago; I have since donated the film to the Michigan historical museum/library.

My father cut his own gold mines. I was with him when I was a kid, blasting dynamite and picking out the side of a blasted chasm. Life seemed so harsh but much easier on our brain back then.Oh yea - I was his second of only two daughters. He always said, "Never say you can't".

You did a wonderful job with this vid!!

what amazing footage!! I have such deep respect for the men who worked in such scary and difficult conditions. Those workers never truly get/got the recognition for the dangerous work they managed to do for such little pay.
