@MsJilsephonie Sully would be singing the same EXACT stuff with out Layne's influence. I am a huge Layne Staley fan as well, but Sully is just being gracious to the memory of a fellow musician. Layne is/was not in Sully's league.Cornell, Plant...those cats you can make a case for. That being said, this is all just my humble, unimportant opinion. xoxo!!

@MsJilsephonie Ok so youve gone into every godsmack song and note for note put each song together with an alice n chains song? If you have that much time on your hands then you need to find a job. Or go back to school. Either one works for me. Personally and Im sure alot of people here would a agree with me, I hear little resemblance to laynes vocal style. The lyrics that are writen are incredibly different. Sully has a unique singing voice. Its not exactly like any other singer.

@MsJilsephonie Haha. One of the greatest guitarist/musicians of our time Steve Vai said your only as good as you who you steal from. Nothing you write will ever be 100% original. That exact same riff or lick has been writen before. There are only so many notes that can be played in so many oprders. The only thing we can do is change the sound we make them play. Remember that next time you call someone a copy cat.
