How to Repair and Prevent Rust on a Trailer

Please read description for more details on using Por15. In this video we show how to stop rust from getting worse. Using the POR15 Rust Preventative paint we are able to spray it directly over rusted surface.
By using the Metal Ready Primer we are able to use this paint without removing the existing rust.
This paint can be re coated after its cured simply sand down with 400g sandpaper and prime and paint.
This can be more beneficial then galvanising as gal can still rust.

you always need to apply two thin covering coats. The time between coats will depend on how much humidity is in the air. In Arizona where there is very little humidity it will take about 4 hours between coats. The best time is when you can touch the first coat lightly, feel the tackiness of the paint but it will not leave paint on your finger. Always use POR-15 Solvent to thin, up to 5%. Lastly, the POR-15 requires a top coat if exposed to direct sunlight. This would apply to your application. If you are using one of our top coats they may be applied when the second coat is almost dry, slightly tacky. If you are using one of your top coats then you should use our Self Etching Primer (aerosol). Apply a dust coat as soon as the POR-15 becomes dry to the touch. If longer than 12 hours then I would recommend scuffing the POR-15 with a scuff pad.

@iMMike0 honestly I haven't used it. If a product is used correctly it should do its job. This stuff is mad because you can paint it straight over rust and it's hammer tough.

Wow I didn't know you could spray POR-15. I thought that was a pretty nasty product that had to be applied with a brush.
