Glenn Gainor, Executive Producer for Screen Gems, gives GEN a tour of Sony Pictures Studio's stage 23... home to set recycling that saves TONS of wood and other precious materials annually. All materials used on the set are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified sustainable materials.
Stage 23 has been home to many big-budget Hollywood films such as Quarantine, The Stepfather, Obsessed, Death at a Funeral, and Takers. Glenn Gainor's past works have included such hits as Vacancy starring Luke Wilson, Grandma's Boy, and Strange Wilderness. Glenn talks about the re-use of sets as a critical part of Sony's overall sustainability efforts. Not only does the set recycling help save money and TONS of materials, but it is an essential part of Sony Pictures Studio's goal of becoming a "zero-waste" facility.
