Some people seem to think this is an appeal to YouTube. It is not.
My point is that, in an environment where imitation is rewarded far more than originality, it is up to us, the people who enjoy original content, to support those creators, because no one else is going to do it. Youtube is not dying! It is bigger than ever and growing every day. We just have to make sure we pay attention to the original content, because it will not rise to the top on its own.
This is not about self entitlement.
No one is owed anything. My message is simple:

Support the content you like. If you don't, who will?
