video of this stunning version of Big Star's "Kangaroo",re-arranged by the supergroup This Mortal Coil in 1983 and released on their debut album "It'll end in tears".The singer is Gordon Sharp of Cindytalk.This Mortal Coil was a group formed by artists of different bands,all signed to one of the most important alternative record label of all time,the 4AD,whose president was Ivo Watts-Russell.The ambum also containes one of the biggest indie hit of all time,"Song to the siren",a cover of Tim Buckley's one,performed by Elizabeth Fraser and Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins."Kangaroo" was a indie hit as well,reaching the #2 of the UK Indie Chart and remaining in that position for 20 weeks.Enjoy!;)
