My mom would have turned 70 on Sept 17, 2010. I was planning a huge suprise birthday for her. She passed away before I could suprise her. She died in her sleep on July 21, 2010.
This video is her tribute. It is also the story of a child's forgiveness through the grace of God after a life of child abuse. Although I was abused by my parents, God forgave me for my sins, and as an adult I forgave my parents. My last visit with her was just a few days before she unexpectedly passed away in the nursing home. For some reason (God) at the end of that last visit I felt compelled to tell her "I love you Mom." She said "I love you too. " Those were our last words.
What she didn't know was I had started planning a huge 70th birthday for her at the nursing home. I was going to have a gosple band, her favorite food (a BLT), a cake, and lots of gifts. She had never had a suprise birthday and was in mourning over the loss of my dad (her husband) a couple years ago. That grief was added to when she lost her mom just 9 months before her own death.

I want everyone to know forgiveness is a gift from God. Holding on to bitterness and anger will destroy you. God was able to bring beauty out of the ashes of abuse. I loved my mom and miss her so much.

  • @DjTopGunner - She made that choice not me. She was a diabetic with many health issues. I was happy to never need to make that decision for either of my parents. If you are trying to provoke me you failed. God loves you.

  • @insideoutoreo81- I am so glad this video touched your heart. Like I said forgiveness isn't easy. There was terrible abuse. There is no excuse for child abuse. But if Jesus can forgive her then so can I. I let Jesus take the burden I carried from me. The last years with my mom were beautiful because I forgave her. Mark 11:25 says "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

  • @security384- My mom accepted Jesus as her savior. She was not perfect but forgiven by me and her Lord and Savior. If you ever want to know more about how you too can find this peace feel free to contact me. Forgiveness isn't easy. It's a gift to yourself. It's freedom but I can understand other children of abuse not forgiving. It isn't easy. My sister is on a different journey that I am on. She has chosen not to forgive and I understand that too. I will pray for you. I know it is difficult.

  • I have seen a lot of videos here on youtube, but this was the first that actually made me cry VERY HARD!. I just want to say to boogity14 I’m sure you did the best for mom and the love you have for her continues. Our heavenly father knows your pain. There is a beautiful promise from God at Revelations 21: 5 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” A promise from God!

  • You have a beautiful heart... Forgiveness is an easy word... God bless you... Just never forget the things she did to you, this way, you will never do it to your own children and teach them the same...
