If it's bluesy - it's Blues Rock. No matter how Hard or Heavy. Metal isn't Bluesy - Metal is Jazz with extreme amplification. Most of it Extremely plain. But so easy too make it's ridiculous.

Blues-Rock on the other hand is always kicking ass!

Heavy metal didn't OFFICIALLY become it's own genre until the blues base was lost. And when the blues base was lost, so did a lot of the originality, Heavy metal didn't become an actual term until the mid-'70s or so. If you REALLY want to know where "heavy" started, then look no further than The Yardbirds. Then you can go from there. Brick by brick the house was built. Blue Cheer was one of the MAJOR turning points. They were dudes who didn't give a f**k about anything but being LOUD.
