Earmarks are the last vestige of transparency our government utilizes when deciding what to do with our money. If I appropriate X dollars for a certain bill then it is the Congress' responsibility to then earmark how that X dollars is spent or have the executive branch decide what they are going to do with it with no transparency. An earmark tells the people how money is spent. The problem isn't earmarks its the appropriations. The money is already spent and taken from the public.

I understand why she is like that, a lot of older people get a lot of phone calls from the republicans mostly harassing them to vote. The republicans know mostly older citizens vote so they target them. They get sick and tired of hearing it, while we the younger generation sit back and think, ARE THEY FOR REAL? Comedy central could not script Palin's lines any better to make her interviews a joke, that is how bad Palin was!

Earmarks are what the state of Alaska gets disproportionately from the Federal govt while the governor finds money in the states coffers to give to her citizens rebates. I would consider earmarks to include the overwhelming number of defense contracts given, particular, to the state of Arizona (#1 recipient of defense funds). Defense spending and propping up big oil w/ federal funds are earmarks when it's not necessry, the war being fought is illegal, and BIG OIL has plenty of it's own money.

Who cares about what New Yorkers think"?? Well, I do. I love N.W.
But I don't know what earmarks are either except maybe John MaC doesn't like ear piercings and is going to force us all into getting surgery to patch-up our nasty little earring holes and make us use the old fashioned clip-ons again. He is sort of old school, eh. Or maybe its something to do with Bluetooth?? Let's keep the public confused... another mark of our political super men ...
LOL HAHAHAHAHA BRILLIANT! What a brilliant idea.
I didn't know what an earmark was, or that Senator McCain was older than the state of Alaska, but I'm glad I do now. LOL! I loved this video. And right on, lady, I don't think New York is for McCain either.

That gentleman with the gray shirt summed it up very well.
Why do politican throw around fancy terms that many people don't know the exact meaning of anyway.
It would be much more funny if they'd interview an audience after a political speech which was about earmarks... ;)
