The notion of a god having a son actually predates any of the modern belief systems. It was very common in ancient religions such as Greek, Roman or Norse. Christianity adopted some of those concepts. But in order to maintain their monotheistic belief system, they had to claim the son was actually god and not a distinct being. Which is somewhat ironic since their belief system requires the son to make a sacrifice which is not really a sacrifice since it's actually god.

There isn't even any original copy of the Bible, and no written record from Jesus(pbuh) himself, so anyone who believes Jesus is god or son of god based on the Bible is waging their soul over the back of a cereal box.
