I made the Suez transit aboard USS Peterson (DD969) in 93. A very long interestng trip. I will never forget it.

I was just in NYC for the 17th Annual Salute to Freedom Day aboard the USS Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. The USS Bataan was on the port side of the Intrepid. It looked like it was its home. Great looking ship.

Navy Master at Arms here, and I was on "the big 5" (USS Bataan LHD-5) on Sept. 11, 2001, as well as this Suez transit and a few others following. Awesome ship, and unforgettable experiences and friendships!

Bataan is the province from the philippines where many soldier americans and filipinos died during WW2 against japanese. where the Corregidor island is located.
