Hi all,

I found the video clips which feature in this video hiding away in one of my many folders.

All of the clips were taken in August 2008 at the GEC Miniature Railway's "Family Day".

The locomotive featured is 7.25" 0-4-0 Romulus Tendered loco No5 "James" (in red livery). The locomotive is driven by owner in all of the shots. The engine includes vacuum braking for use with the railway's rolling stock.

The engine is seen at the following locations on the 7.25" track:-
-Climbing The Main Bank
-Arriving At The Main Station
-Running Round At The Station
-Dropping Past 1/2 Way Passing Loop for Terminus
-Climbing Towards The Main Station from Terminus

Other locomotives running that day which are NOT featured in this video were:-
-5" gauge 0-6-0 Battery Y7 Tram
-5" gauge 0-6-0 Speedy Tank No1501 "Cyril"
-5" gauge 0-6-0 Battery Class 08 Diesel
-5" gauge 0-6-0 Penrhyn Slate Steam loco
-7.25" gauge 0-4-0 Diesel Hydraulic "Sammy"

So what is the GEC Miniature Railway:-
This railway includes 3.5"/5" & 7.25" tracks and is based on the GEC Sports Ground just off Allard Way, Binley, Coventry. The line is operated by the GEC Model Engineering Society and operates for the public on the first weekend of each month from May-October. The Saturday's are usually designated to 3.5"/5" gauge running whilst the Sunday's feature 7.25" gauge operations. (The two tracks are seperate you see).

The 7.25" line has recently been extended to feature a triangle at its terminus. Trains traverse the triangle before returning to the main station. The train ride is very pleasant and in my opinion is...just the right length! The line is fully signalled, as is the 3.5"/5" track.

The railway also includes a Tea-Room and 00 gauge model railway.

Why not go along and visit? It is a very friendly little railway and is well worth a look. Please enjoy the clips I've added.

Enjoy.
