humans learn longer, and yet they still lose, it doesn't mean they are smarter, it just means they can memorize more and faster than humans

This is unfari. Those chimps have been training at this game for YEARS. Their human oppenents are just regular people who were asked if they wanted to participate in a study.

This is once again because chimps have fewer subconscious modes than humans. When presented with this task, the human sifts through the appropriate mode to use, including the mode that questions whether it's worth bothering to complete the task. In contrast the chimp immediately leaps to a pattern matching mode. The chimp does not consider alternative modes. The natural human mode would be to negotiate with the machine or the person operating the machine.
