I'm sorry but are you talking about the original kempo system? If you are then that isn't what it means, and it is very much japanese. I'll give you part marks because all karate was derived from Chinese arts, which from my understanding, is very hard for the japanese masters to accept.

I saw some of these guys in Jersey at the world championships 2008 and they are a credit to Ed Parkers kenpo. Well done Flaming Fist. BRILLIANT.
