At USAFA, we have a "lightning alley" of sorts, so to protect the interests of the American Taxpayer, the Lightning Van patrols the common courtyard area during a lightning warning (lightning within 5 miles)... it has become the bane of many a cadet's existence and therefore deserving of mockery.
