This scene is intentionally made the sexiest scene in the entire movie, but the works of this sexualization are very interesting; the white male lead is sexualized in a good way for he is the victim, while Fah Lo See is sexualized in a bad, immoral way as her desire for Terry is portrayed as a form of control.

Very homoerotic, and very "yellow peril." Interesting piece of film history.

The original entire sequence is amazing. They would never film anything like it nowadays. The camerawork, the (probably unintended) homoerotica and other facets just wouldn't work with Brendan Fraser.
