Released as single almost 40 years after it featured on the soundtrack of 'Way Out West', 'The Trail of The Lonesome Pine' achieved No. 2 in the UK singles charts over Christmas 1975. It was held off No. 1 by Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.

Thnx for the upload, TRJB ;-)

  • sooo great ! thanks !

  • The voice of Chill Wills comes out of Stan Laurel at one point.

  • I was in the Navy and stationed in England in the mid 70's. I remember when this was out and thought how odd. Top 40 radio was much different there than it was in America.

  • Oliver was quite the legitimate tenor; Stan certainly had a more than passable baritone out of the British Music Hall tradition; whenever I see this I'm genuinely surprised that they didn't do more singing in their films.
