I Am The Tiger

The Tiger is the symbol of power, courage and strength. Once venerated and associated with divinities. Now, they are systematically hunted for their skin, bones and teeth. This specie is disappearing and so is our grasp of nature's force, our humbleness.

I am the tiger is a stunning one woman tour de force sixty minute performance, suitable for the whole family, which incorporates elements of traditional Indian dance, song, poetry, live percussion and dynamic physicality.

This piece tells of the story of Taqdeer raised in the forest of Sarhi. His sister, Bachhi is forced to fight for food for her cubs .

After seeing his Uncle, Banka cruelly killed Taqdeer is branded a man eater and drawn into battle with the local villagers. During the whole commotion he falls in love with a tigress Banbahi (Trisha) . He is then caught and shipped off to a zoo in the Bronx where a life of barren captivity, inhumane conditions and loneliness force him to the very brink of existence and madness.

A versatile TV Presenter / Emcee, Actress and Odissi dancer, Shivani Wazir Pasrich has been the force behind the production and conceptualization of the well toured play "Draupadi_ Will my spirit Live on?". Having acted in a number of plays as well as Yash Chopra's national award winning film ,"Dil To Pagal Hai", this former Miss India World Wide was engaged as a Consultant by the Hon'ble Speaker to help launch Lok Sabha (Parliament of India) TV channel. Shivani has produced and directed documentaries on socially relevant issues. Her love for animals and interest in dance, theatre and choreography has led her to become consumed by "I am the Tiger".
